[Enhancement Request ] Reuse "Payee" and "Notes" entries

January 30, 2019 at 9:13pm (Edited 3 years ago)
First off, I just started using Actual (macOS) and it looks incredible. A decade ago I had to create my own finances tool (using Excel and now Sheets) because nothing gave enough control to the end-user. However, Actual looks like it meets all of my needs.
One thing that could drastically improve the workflow for adding transactions would be able to start typing a Payee and it automatically suggests previous Payees. For example, if I shop at Costco 50 times per year (stop judging), I want to start typing "Co" and can use the arrow or tab keys to select any payees previously entered that starts with "Co" in the name. While Costco is easy to type, some of my other reoccurring payees are much longer.

Indeed, this is coming. You found the trello card but for other's sake:
That feature means exactly what you said: payees will be objects that autocomplete, and potentially Actual automatically resolves them if you are importing transactions
just wait for custom reports man, I think you'll be able to do almost anything you want
Thank you, . Would also be cool to see similar functionality with Notes. I often use the same note for multiple entries. For example, a note like "Pending" for credit card transactions that haven't cleared but will. Or "Reimbursement from ..." to indicate I need to be reimbursed by someone or work.
If you are suggesting reports by Payee, that would be amazing. Would be good to know I am spending too much at Costco. ;)
Where would you prefer enhancement requests to be recorded? Here in the community or on your Trello board? Or both?
The trello board is the "official" tracker, so that'd be great!
