Importing from European banks

October 17, 2019 at 8:40am
👋 Acutal community! It's great to see the new api released and already being documented on the website. Since my bank only supports exporting transactions as csv files, I had to enter them by hand until now. Using the api I could write a small script to automate the import. Would be happy to add support for other banks as well, if someone would like to use it.

Somehow the import functionality doesn't work anymore in the latest version. This tool would had been really useful, however I'm using Danske Bank
that latest Actual version? or version of the library?
btw great work ! fwiw it's probably worth posting on the reddit, most activity is over there: https://www.reddit.com/r/actualbudget/
I found the problem I was facing. It was basically a user error, but Actual didn't give any feedback. My bank provides .cvs files. I usually manually convert these files into .OFX using this tool (https://csvconverter.biz/convert/step/5). No problems there.
However, today I didn't realise that I imported transactions that were already imported. The result was that I choose the file to be imported, and nothing happened. Tried again, and nothing. This got me to think that the import functionality was broken. A dialog or feedback saying "0 transactions imported" would had been enough to understand what went wrong.
Aah yes it definitely should. I've been thinking about ways to improve that feedback for sure.
