A place to discuss building decentralised applications and writing smart contracts on the Ethereum blockchain ⛓

From web2 to web3

In the last few years the argument to decentralise the web has been growing louder and with the emergence of platforms like Ethereum it is now possible for web developers to experiment with this new architecture.
I've been working in this space for about 6 months at and have found the transition from building "traditional" web apps to "decentralised apps" (or dapps) fascinating - if a little challenging!
With all the terminology and technology to grasp, getting into web3 development can be pretty overwhelming, especially as best practices and tooling have yet to settle down in such a nascent ecosystem.
So, it'd be really interesting to hear from other web3 converts about your journey so far and what you feel is most needed to ease this transition for others.
For me, it's simple and coherent tutorials.

I totally agree with your statement Luke and feel that the (dapps) ecosystem is growing. As a designer + developer, easy tutorials and clear understandings over the basics will matter more than ever. Looking into big data, there will be an enormour push around data visualizations, decoupling objects and scale.

I'm a web developer.I totally agree that the efforts to make web decentralise are going on fast pace.I too believe that it needs to be decentralised.A year backward I came to know about dApps and they really started fascinating me. So I tried a hands on developing them just by reading articles and watching tutorials and most importantly joining the ethereum stackexchange helped me a lot whenever I'm stuck

Still working on that transition. Trying to come up with the proper framework for building dApps while remaining Solid compliant (
