Could you explain your use-case for variables in Figma?
I really can't believe that ANY software that claims to do prototyping doesn't have a simple way to do hover states out of the box. That's the state of software development these days, half baked "solutions" a plenty!
bullets and indents in paragraphs
Keep aspect ratio of images when resizing viewport.
Borders with different width/color per edge.
Populating component instances with real data.
Changing all fonts across a file. Swapping out one font with another.
One thing that is -really easy- in code but -really hard- in design apps is what flexbox or inline block does. So put dynamic width elements on the same line.
Responsive Typography, Shadow Scaling, Viewport Units or Percentages for position and size, Padding and Margins
From main menu: “select all with the same font” show do the trick.
Although the feature mentioned in the thread are really desired / necessary for everyday design work the title rubs me the wrong way.
I wasn’t at this talk at Figma London, so I can’t attribute this quote to a specific person, but it seems like this is one of the questions the team at Figma ask themselves when prioritizing features to work on.
