Font Managers that still work with Figma Windows app?March 5, 2018 at 10:18pm
I have been using FontExpert for years as a font viewer manager. This Font manager works for every other app and used to work with figma but has stopped working a few weeks ago. Temporarily installing fonts so I don't end up with thousands of fonts to select from and taking up memory is something I require. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Hey everyone, third party font managers have never been officially supported and are not expected to work properly right now with Figma.
We understand how important this is to all of you and it's definitely something we hope to support in the future!
However, locally installed fonts and Adobe Typekit are expected to work, if you have a problem with either of these please contact us via the help widget in Figma so we can look into it.never been officially supported and are not expected to work properly right now with Figma.

First thanks for an actual standpoint from figma If its not supported Its weird how no one else says they have this problem...and how come figma used to work with font managers then stopped working?
Surely other designers still use font managers. Designers I work with claim it works for them but fonts stopped working on all 3 computers I use at the same time.

Are you still having trouble with this? The desktop app should work with all font managers although you will have to right-click the tab and select Reload whenever you activate more fonts.
I'm using the Installed Figma app.
Just tried again with two different font managers.
Closed and restarted Figma both times.
No Dice. On Two different Windows 10 machines
If been hard installing fonts which i don't like doing for obvious reasons.
Figma finds fonts 'synced' from Typkit and Monotype, Just not local fonts installed with font managers

In my case, I use Windows 10 and I also use the Desktop version in both computers. In one computer the file opens perfectly fine, on the other, Figma changes the font from Museo to Roboto. I then realised that the one with problems had the Museo family instaled in .OTF and in the other computer that is working fine had the .TTF version of the Museo family fonts installed, so maybe that is the problem.

Just want to bump and +1 this feature.
Windows has been notoriously rubbish with font management over the years but FontBase is very nice.
I'm unsure of the logic involved as these font managers don't install fonts in a native fashion but it would be brilliant if Figma could work with such font management tools. A real game changer.
