What's happening during the "optimizing image" phase and how can I optimize it?May 29, 2020 at 3:29am
This is easily the longest part of my deploy. I'm unsure if there's an inherent wait here or if I should try to figure out if I accidentally did something to make my image too large. Thanks

That’s when it’s downloading your image layers and flattening them into the rootfs we launch. It’s slowness is squarely on us, we haven’t optimized the optimizing step yet 😄
the size printed there is the size of the manifest file, not the actual image. That’s not very useful
we should remove it
okay, that's all helpful! FWIW my image layers should be generally pretty common, so this seems optimizable. It's not a giant pain, but I would love to see a speedup here. Would definitely up the magic factor.
