ControlType.Object

September 3, 2019 at 3:50pm
I'm often creating code components for the designers on my team to solve a specific problem, and I always end up pushing the possibilities of the current property control options to make them as dynamic as possible so it can solve future problems as well.
The return of ControlType.Object or a similar type that allows code components to expose pairings of 2 types would do wonders for the flexibility and usability of our components 🙌

Always one step ahead of us :) A PR has been opened for ControlType.Object and is now under review. It should be available in x44 or x45.

Checked with the team, 2 weeks seems to be the estimated ETA :)

Perhaps ControlType.Alias would be a better name

I guess the initial request was about the interface similar to object notation: pairs of key and value. Combined with controlType.Array it could become very useful in interface building. Eg user would be able to pass custom properties directly to the component (like css).

Any update on when ControlType.Object and getPropertyControls() would be available? It doesn't seem to be possible yet with v46.

Yeah this looks really great, also struggling with limitations of the UI when creating complex components

Hey everyone, apologies for the delay. This is currently blocked by another higher impact feature. Hard to give a good estimate at this point.
