Getting “unable to connect to canvas data store” error

Getting “unable to connect to canvas data store” error

November 6, 2018 at 10:59am

I have a code component that just re-uses design component. It works okay in Framer preview, but in web export I'm getting this error. Anyone knows how to fix it aside from making a pure code component?

What does your canvas.tsx file look like?

A standard auto-generated Framer stuff.

// WARNING: this file is auto generated, any changes will be lost
import { createDesignComponent, CanvasStore } from "framer"
const canvas = CanvasStore.shared(); // CANVAS_DATA;
export const StatusBar = createDesignComponent<{parentSize?:{width:number|string,height:number|string},width?:number|string,height?:number|string}>(canvas, "id_Z3t6X8Fxr", {}, 360,24);

The component can be anything that does import { Component } from "./canvas" and then tries to render that.

Same issue for me. Having the ability to include design components into code components is exactly what's so powerful in Framer. I hope this gets fixed soon.

As temporary solution I copied my design frame as SVG and put it inside const var and using it where I need it in code component. (it doesn't support images)

Hey, just to confirm that beta/1a967a3f0a fixes this problem. Works as expected and it's a super powerful feature.

Thanks #Framer team!
