Gatsby with Wordpress Challenges

March 3, 2019 at 11:20am (Edited 4 years ago)
I have described all the challenges and solutions I encountered using this stack here
I will summarize it :
  1. Rendering generated content from Gutenberg Editor - I made use of html-react-parser to help me with this. The downside is, I would have to do this for every block installed.
  2. Style of preview should match rendered Gatsby content - I manually synced up the typography on both my headless theme and Gatsby
  3. Trigger build on Netlify during save - I used this plugin
  4. Forms - I used Netlify forms and use Zapier integration
  5. Global Settings - I don't have any solution for this? Do you know any plugin for this, something that will expose an API? Something like Cockpit Singletons
Let me know your challenges and solutions, we can discuss here.

Thanks for sharing ! How are you dealing with hosting? I've been hosting the WP endpoint on an subdomain (so admin panel is at and using CNAMEs and other fun stuff to redirect www to my Netlify-built site (no calls to the WP endpoint). How about you?
