asp.net mvc + imba

June 3, 2019 at 4:42am
I am feeling ambitious this evening. I am considering developing a ViewEngine for asp.net core mvc with Imba as that service. Wondering how hard it would be to link the two.... perhaps I'd have to port the Imba compiler to C# first.... hmm..... anyone wanna stop me before I go down the rabbit hole? Would it be hard to port the Imba compiler to C#?

So you want to do SSR on asp.net but... with Imba?
Why not simply render HTML in any way you wish server-side and then hydrate the markup client side with Imba? Not sure if it's possible with Imba, but it is with Vue, React, and Inferno.

In Vue for example the root HTML element of the component only needs to have a server-rendered attribute IIRC.

I'm not a backend guy, but that would be awesome to have. If you would use it, I'm sure a lot of other people would too. I'm eager to see what you accomplish.
