Add tooltips to elements (buttons, icons etc.)

In order to preserve space I tend to use buttons with icons (and without text) or just clickable icons. It would be nice to be able to set the tooltip for elements to provide users with extra information about that element (where it leads / what it does / etc.).

Yes we thought about it. I think we will implement it with a "container" like element which will enable tooltip when hovering on the children elements

Any specific reason to implement it with the container element and not the actual element the tooltip is for? A tooltip is often for a specific element (f.i. tooltip "Go to Projects" for icon Projects will display a page with a list of the projects). Using a container element might result in a number of extra container elements on a page, one for every element you want to set a tooltip for. Maybe allow both options, container and element?
Yes, it will be used for all the elements. When I said that it will be like a container element, it means that it will act a but as the "link box" element. You will wrap the elements where you want to apply the tooltip (usually only one element: an icon, a button, an image, ...) in a "tooltip" container element. We will do some tests a showcase the proposition, it will be easier to understand :)
