On macOS you may get an error message upon opening the MDyna client. Something along the lines of "MDyna can’t be opened because it is from an unidentified developer".
If you're not aware, Apple charges ~100$/yr for developers to enrol in their 'Developer Program'. Because the time and effort developers put into making apps but also taking time to build packages for their platforms is not enough.
I am not making money with this application and nearly all tools used for MDyna are free, so out of principle I am not paying the Apple Developer fee. I'm aware that this is a debate that can go on for hours and the point of this post is to help macOS users use MDyna.
If you're getting this message, all you need to do is authorize packages from unknown sources. In order to do that follow these steps:
- Open your terminal and type
sudo spctl --master-disable.
- Press Enter
- Type your password
- Hit enter
After this you can open and run MDyna freely. If you wish to re-enable Apple Gatekeeper, open up the terminal and type
sudo spctl --master-enable
