"Get access to MAGs"

March 19, 2020 at 9:50am
Hello! I did an online analysis of a assembled genome of an isolate against the biogas microbiome reference database. For one isolate I got a hit: 99% identity to a MAG --> can I download this MAG? Do I get any additional information on this MAG, like source, sequencing method, authors, date and so on? Where is this kind of information stored for all data within a project / a database in MiGA?

Hello When you find your hit, just click on its name and this will direct you to the page of that genome. From there you can download any data files in the database. For example, to download the assembly, go to "Assembly", see at the footer of the section (grey area), and click the "largecontigs" link. You can also download any other results (e.g., genes, proteins, 16S, etc)

Normally, the metadata of each genome is on that same page, on the left side. However, the biogas microbiome project doesn't have individual metadata associated to each genome. For more information on each project, click on the project name or badge, and this will direct you to the main page of the project. This is the one for the biogas microbiome: http://microbial-genomes.org/projects/biogasmicrobiome

Most projects have a README section at the bottom, with information about the project itself such as the publication describing the project
