[SOLVED] First project missing directory "app-android"

May 30, 2020 at 8:21am (Edited 1 year ago by @daniel-thommes)
Hi,
I just installed MobileUI and created my first project in Android Studio. Unfortunately the new project does not contain an directory named "app-android". Strange enough the directory "app-ios" is there. Any idea why that directory is missing?
Thanks, Jan

Oh I am using version 0.41 of MobileUI downloaded just 30 minutes ago ;-)

Hi Jan. That is strange. Could you confirm, that the directory is actually not available in the Finder as well? Just to be sure... And have you tried building a second project? Does the problem re-occur?

I don't see the directory in the windows explorer and I tried it a couple of times with new projects.

Hi Jan. I am sorry, we currently don't support Windows. That might be the reason, that is does not work. Please see the requirements here: https://docs.mobileui.dev/guides/installation/ Do you have the possibility to work with macOS? Only here, the iOS part of the app can be comiled as Xcode is required.

Yeah, for now. But we have Windows support in the back log. For the beginning, it will only be possible to build the Android app, as RoboVM requires Xcode. Would you be fine with such a single platform approach? An alternative would be to use a Mac in the cloud...

Understood. Since I just wanted to give MobileUI a try I won't get iOS only for that, sorry. Maybe I will look into it another time.

No problem. Thanks for giving it a try. There will be a Windows compatible version soon. Stay tuned and best wishes!
