How to apply list format for multiple text lines?

March 4, 2019 at 6:49pm (Edited 2 months ago)

I'd like to apply a list like this:

Text A

Text B

Text C

To become this without manual adding "-" every line

  • Text A
  • Text B
  • Text C

Hey, add a " -" on the first line and then hit return/enter at every point you want to create a new list item

But I already have a list. So I have to manually enter the "-" every line of, for example, 20 lines?

Nope, you just have to hit enter and a new list item is created automatically

Hi @tom! Just started using Outline today. Love it. Came across this too, though. The list option is not in the "highlight" menu - I had text copied from elsewhere and couldn't apply the list to all items except manually. Would be great to have it in the highlight menu. This is also what they meant above - the current assumption seems to be that one would only write inside Outline, but often we'll copy from elsewhere and expanding the highlight menu options would be a key improvement for us. Thanks!

(Another similar request is for the ability to jump through lines of text vertically by using "up" and "down" keys on my keyboard. This was the quickest thing to register as an impediment in use for me.)

...copying this to feature requests. Sorry!
