Presentation for the LF energy data architecture working group

September 11, 2020 at 7:13am
Hi PowSyBl community,
With data architecture working group we like to have more insight in the current LF energy projects and their data architecture. The goal of the data architecture is to improve interoperability of the LF energy projects.
We would like to get insight in the following topics (e.g. in a presentation form) Project focus and introduction Data input Data output Used semantics (e.g. What information standards are used?)
Please select a date and I will send an invite: https://wiki.lfenergy.org/display/HOME/Data+Architecture+Working+Group

Hi Sander, thanks for your working document.
PowSyBl supports several grid exchange formats, that are documented in our web-site https://www.powsybl.org/pages/documentation/index.html#grid-formats. Interoperability is essential for us and we are working on a CIM-CGMES importer and exporter. CGMES is the new standard to exchange grid model informations. We are about to complete the exporter. We only work on TSO grid model for the moment, and it would be great to test our conversion on DSO networks (and then increase our support of the standard). We also support the UCTE-DEF format: a lot of operational processes are still in that format. We hope to be able in Powsybl to have a conversion from UCTE-DEF to CIM-CGMES next year. We are also working on supporting documents that follow IEC standard for balance ajustement and capacity calculation for instance.

Hi Anne; We are testing the import of a DSO grid. So far; CGMES EQ works fine.
Can somebody of the PowSyBl community give an introduction of PowSyBl and an introduction to the semantics of PowSyBl for the LF energy data architecture workgroup?

At the moment, the world is extracting a huge amount of useful resources that play a very important role in the existence of mankind. But the big states have created a certain monopoly thanks to which the poor states are unable to meet the requirements. They have to spend a huge part of their budget on the purchase of important resources and forget about their own development, thereby staying far behind. But have you ever heard of the mercado livre de energia at (http://www.focusenergia.com.br/mercado-livre-de-energia/) is an organization created in Brazil that supplies energy to many countries around the world? They provide contracts on very favorable terms and provide certain guarantees to consumers. At the moment, their reserves account for 30% of all energy on earth and the scale of their distribution is simply startling!
