speaking of formik, does anyone have any tips for improving performance? It looks all my input components are re-rendering on every input.

Hey Sam, maybe it's worth creating a post and sharing some code snippets so we can look at what's going on.

for a lightweight forms helper, also check out useForm in https://github.com/revelcw/react-hooks-helper

I just found redux-form has been superseded by react-final-form, same author https://github.com/final-form/react-final-form

https://github.com/jaredpalmer/formik

@lavaldi

Here I find discussion from both author (Formik and react-final-form/redux-form) https://github.com/jaredpalmer/formik/issues/533

Hey Guys. Are there any React.js Scheduling apps?

What is the best way to define "KEY" in React when creating a list with map function from an array which containing no unique ID. I don't want go with index because If later any item remove or added in array previous array index will be change it does not helps React to keep track listing DOM nodes

are there any other fields in the array that are entirely unique? or are you not guaranteed unique elements?

Like a calendar app?

depends on what's in the array, but you're right, you shouldn't use the index

This might be a good thing to create an individual post for so we can keep track of answers and clarify what you're looking for without clogging up the chat feed

Hey There, do you know any react carousel library supports multiple item on every slide aside on react-slick?

@brian That is a great idea. I will do just that. Thank you for the advice.

Does it matter whether you call hooks multiple times in nested components/functions versus passing arguments as props?

not guaranteed unique elements or fields in array

hey guys ... i am stuck at the most basic use of useState ... the code is

  • reply
  • like

const [isFocused, setIsFocued] = useState(false)

and when i call setIsFocued(!isFocused)

  • reply

i get Uncaught TypeError: Converting circular structure to JSON at Object.stringify (<anonymous>) at setTimeout (reactTraverser.js:29)

  • reply

That doesn't look like an error with useState. Can you please post a larger reproduction? Also probably better to create a thread. If you post code example please make sure you use code fences like this:

Hi, everyone! My friends and I built a time travel debugger for react.js applications using useReducer. Would love to get some feedback on how we could make it better for other developers. Thanks! https://github.com/reactrewind/react-rewind
