Best practice to adding a product imageJuly 14, 2020 at 6:39pm (Edited 29 days ago)
Hi, I am wondering how to add images for an individual product. I have done it via the drag and drop dashboard option when editing a product, but this does not show up when on the storefront's category page.. instead it shows a photo resembling a camera with an 'X' in the lens. What is the proper way to add a photo so that it would show on the storefront?
I deployed saleor on heroku. I then hosted both saleor-storefront & saleor-backend on github and used github pages to build my site. I do know that production-wise this will need to change (I have plans to change this).

Seems to me like issue with scaled images. All pictures send via dashboard should be processed by celery worker. We are using vesratileimagefield which scale the image and prepare thumbnails. I would suggest checking if your worker is up, or if you dont have one, to check if celery is in always eager mode https://docs.celeryproject.org/en/stable/userguide/configuration.html#std:setting-task_always_eager
If there is any issue with creating images, there should be some trace of it in logs
BTW Cool idea to use gh pages as test environment
Thanks! I plan to make a tutorial for others since the process for getting it up was fairly simple (with the help of a friend who is good with webpack builds).
Another question is, when building the saleor image and pushing it to heroku, does that auto instantiate the celery worker? Or would I have to get the celery worker up and running myself?
