Custom Domain?May 18, 2018 at 7:03pm
Have you guys considered custom domains?
I have sketch.chat , would be cool to have it go directly to the community

I have no experience with it, other than some sites that allow it. I think you need to setup CNAME or A records. There is plenty of info out there for setting it up on the domain side. But I couldn't find any info on the server side. Here is how github does it https://help.github.com/articles/about-supported-custom-domains/

Yeah we're not totally sure how to go about implementing this, especially thinking of the edge cases (e.g. should people be able to navigate to other communities from your custom subdomain?)
also would love to have these URLs be a bit cleaner. spectrum.com/balance/exchange-beta or something

@ricburton yeah the thread URLs aren't very clean yet. We have an open issue to tackle that, they will most likely look something like this: spectrum.chat/balance/general/exchange-beta-asdf123

The first step you should take is to move the community to Subdomain. Such as instead of https://spectrum.chat/<community> It should be https://<community>.spectrum.chat. After that you can allow a custom CNAME to be mapped to the specified community.

We want to use spectrum to run our communities at HelloMeets
Can we do it?
The main question is can we have a custom url?
Is that possible with spectrum
