Desktop App Beta 2 is out

May 30, 2018 at 7:07pm
Note: we're still figuring out how our autoupdater will work - in the meantime, it appears that we don't have something configured quite right so if you want to get the latest version you'll need to re-install the desktop app manually from that link above.
Sorry for the hassle, but we'll get this figured out asap!

Correct - we have an open PR that's working on providing more granular push notification controls
For now though, yeah, you'll get a notification for everything that happens when the app is backgrounded :P (e.g. for new messages in threads where you're active)
Just add a checkmark to disable system notifications in notification settings. I'd love to see something slick like Slack. That's one of the things I really love about Slack is how it handles notification settings. You get snooze per channel, and all sorts of specific configurations.
Alright I reset the data but now I see the gray mac bar. Is that normal?
Try doing a cmd-r
Whoa, definitely not - if you click 'About Spectrum' in the menu bar dropdown can you find the version you're running
Make sure you're on 1.0.0-beta2
We do have per-channel muting, per-thread muting, etc. - just not all accessible from one UI :P
Snoozing will definitely be another task to tackle in the future
hmm it still says 1.0
Ah - you will probably need to quit this version and do a clean install of the beta2 from the link in this thread
Also really want a GOTO most recent button.
how do you mean?
When you open a conversation and have to scroll all the way down to the most recent message. Figma Watercooler for instance.
Not on Windows, my friend ;)
Right right
I just filed a bug related to this
Oh no :P Let me go download this on my PC
Yeah, don't faint. It looks horrible on Windows :P
Oh no :(
Alright I think I'm good. Had to re-install.
Almost think going PWA would be a better route on Windows.
But that limits it to Windows 10.
Ah cmon it's not that bad :p
