How do you present work?

February 7, 2020 at 7:02pm
Currently trying to sort out the best way to deliver designs to you for anything we're cooking up. I want to make sure I can easily and clearly share work with all of you in hopes of, yes sharing, but also gaining feedback—specifically when it isn't a prototype (yet) but rather, static imagery.
Having said that:
  • How do you present work when it's asynchronous communication?
  • Is it something like the image below (not a great example but want a baseline for us to discuss without injecting too much opinion in) and have the copy/explanation/questions around feedback here in a text box?
Would love your thoughts!

Sharing links in XD ain't a bad way to go about it, we can share insights on whatever device with a simple link, Spectrum I don't think have a mobile app, so it's tedious to login through the web.

I likeeee the idea of just sharing links for XD so long as folks don't mind that. Hell, it's what we do internally too. The problem with that though, that I'd have to look into, is whether or not we can share a solo artboard versus multiple (some things shouldn't be accessed).

Hey ! Some users of our plugin are facing the "reporting" problem, where they want to present their work and how they evolved the design through time. Some users of ours in big corps are using Wake to make this happen. But duplication of art-boards just to present work in big design files is a pain yet, as far as I am concerned 😅

100% -- it's amazing how this hasn't really evolved yet, huh? I don't want to use another tool, you know? We're currently exploring the major differences between Adobe XD and Figma. Involving all of you, the community, is super important for us. So we're willing to use whatever tool is best for the job and part of that is involving all of you in the design and development process—from conception of idea to fruition.

For me personally, this type of presentation works perfectly fine. The only hiccup I could see is being able to view larger imagery.
I don't use XD but it really annoys me that Sketch also doesn't allow you to just update/upload certain boards. Folks I'm presenting to don't need to see my archive or symbol pages/artboards.

Completely agree on seeing anything else other than what is intended
