Debugging in Chrome

Is there way to run into breakpoints in VSCode when using Chrome?
According the launch.json from the Theia git repo it should work like this:
"name": "Launch Frontend (Chrome)",
"type": "chrome",
"request": "launch",
"url": "http://localhost:3000/",
"webRoot": "${workspaceRoot}"
But the breakpoint set in a frontend-contribution.ts is not hit. I assume that Chrome doesn't find the sources and therefore doesn't know when to stop. The folder tree looks like: VS_CODE_ROOT/browser-app/ --- package.json --- webpack.config.js --- lib/ --- src-gen/ --- node_modules/ ...
I tried: "webRoot": "${workspaceRoot}/browser-app/lib" "webRoot": "${workspaceRoot}/browser-app/src-gen"
But nothing worked. Maybe you know what to do!
Thanks in advance. LouBen3010

Can you debug in dev tools? Just checking that you have proper source maps
