How can I force to ask default Workspace like eclipse with theia?

I want to show 'open workspace' dialog before it starts. And after setting workspace path, I want to restrict creating folders or files only in the workspace path. How can I do this? Plz help!

This might be difficult to achieve with Theia alone.

e.g. one can always use the terminal to navigate and create files/folders wherever the filesystem permissions permit
