there are multiple issues with your approach. It will be very difficult to maintain, it will be difficult to customize and extend (unless you truly understand the codebase. Moreover, the vscode repository is the open-source version which has key elements from the official product removed. For instance, the integration to the marketplace is removed (and legally only official Microsoft products can use the marketplace), you’ll also not have access to proprietary code, and remote development. You can see the list of removed items here: https://github.com/microsoft/vscode/wiki/Differences-between-the-repository-and-Visual-Studio-Code. I don’t think this approach is suitable for any serious IDE product.

This was discussed a few times, here on Spectrum. I remember a couple of good related posts by but can't find them ATM.

That sounds as pretty old version of Chrome, not sure whether it works. We test against the latest stable version. Do you have issues upgrading?

Hi , on Ubuntu I do it from the system file navigator (nautilus), dragging the file to where I want it to be uploaded to my workspace in the Theia application's file navigator.

Hi, I was working with theia. When I run a terminal command like a react app and close the browser, it doesn't load to the exact state with the history of the terminal. Any idea how I could achieve that?

please not that we have moved the community communication over to https://community.theia-ide.org/, alternatively you can also open discussions on the repo https://github.com/eclipse-theia/theia/discussions. The use-case you have brought up is not supported, the terminal is not restored with its state when the application is reloaded, the same behavior is also present in VS Code.
