Totally agree with this. One thing that keeps coming to mind for me is how to architect/fund such a system so that it won't run out of money to maintain. For example, if you build an open source block explorer, you'll have to pay for the data/server costs. That's the main challenge here. Infura for example can keep bank rolling a free service because of funding support from Consensys, but building an open source explorer is going to be tough to sustain. Will keep thinking on this though. I think it's very important for the ecosystem to thrive.
Hi, this is awesome. I thought that no one is thinking about the problem right now. We are trying to solve the problem for multiple blockchains but decided to start with centralized architecture and move to "Open Aggregation Layer" when this problem will be apparent to more people. Also the potential solutions we came up with to make it decentralized are much harder than doing it in centralized manner (for now).
