Can we set one colour as default text color

Figma / Help · October 7, 2018 at 10:38pm
Earlier I thought separating color from text style was neat and siper idea...but in reality it’s increasing my work

Eg. so basically every app has one primary text color let’s say #111 , I created different text styles but every other time I need to change the color from default black to my theme color
this process can be fine for succes or danger color , since very few ui elem require success/danger or any other color for text. But it’s not same for your primary color
is their any way to set some color as default text Color for project?

Default setting for fill/stroke/ would be useful

+1 I primary work on a web app with a dark UI so it would be really helpful if I could make the text white by default.

Create fill style for all fonts as default , helps when you're managing a hanful of font colors

You can't set default colors for text. What he means is that every time you create a textbox, you have to apply your text color. If you have a lot of components you need to build, it takes a significant chunk of time. Same with rectangles.

Definitely didn't understand that, hmm unsure if I want to be restricted to default color across the app or project, especially if you aren't using styles.

...That is already happening. Every time you create a rectangle, it's #4D4D4D. Every time you create a textbox, it's #000. What we want is to be able to change those values to color styles so that, if you're doing a dark-themed app, you don't have to change the text to white every single time.

I found another way to solve this...so if I am deaign for dark theme and set white Color as default style from menu...so even If I typed text, default fill style is white...it’s not full-proof but neat work Around

Which menu are you talking about?

Top left hand corner hamburger menu -> so Basically I create any shape and set its full to my primary color -> then click on menu and search for set default properties... and that’s it , next time whenever you draw any shape ( that can be draw back for this workaround) or type text default fill will be your primary color
