Wow, this is awesome. I'm not really a designer (junior front-end dev with some minor UI/UX responsibilities) but would love to join. Not a redesign though, just going to start working on my long-overdue personal web (it will be a simple blog for now). Looking forward to seeing other websites for inspiration as well!

I've been wanting to design a personal website/portfolio for a while now, seems like a good opportunity. I'm interested.

P.S. I was front-end developer for two years. I used jQuery, Bootstrap, and SASS, so if you have technical questions, I'd be glad to share tips.

To begin with, yes! Then we can break off into smaller groups if that feels more comfortable

it's an upgrade from what it used to be but some of the feedback I got was that it feels too templatey and corporate, to which I completely agree. I love the header/hero part but want to adjust the content below to more personable

I don't know if I am the only one Drew but i'm getting a 'Not Secure' warning when trying to access your site, just in case you didn't know.

I'm in the same boat as you as a Front-end dev. Sharing / getting feedback from designers is a great way to learn though. You'll do awesome!

Hi guys, I'm front-end developer but my passion always was Deisgn. So in 2015 i made the Deisgn and front-end code this website http://nascenteareasverdes.com.br/ but nowadays after 3 years i can't use that for the portfolio so i was thinking in redesign it. What do you guys think about that ?

Has anyone started sketching out some ideas yet?

I have. the main portion of my new site I am interested in is a blog section. I'm planning on using Gatsby so I can write blog posts in markdown and then render them to a static site. As well going with a markdown approach future proofs it since I can then switch out the frontend if I want and the content should be able to easily transfer over

I started sketching out my portfolio that will be built using webflow since I would like to focus on the content first. And then code it

Count me in as well! 😄 I’ve actually gotten pretty far with a redesign some weeks ago, but I’d love some feedback on that from this group. Then I can rework my website from there during the month of July.

I’m planning on doing the same: Gatsby to render markdown posts. Would love to help each other out! I also want to show portfolio items, but I’m not sure how well I can write those in markdown (lots of metadata). So I’m thinking perhaps creating some JSON template for that?

You can use the Markdown frontmatter for metadata. See: https://www.gatsbyjs.org/docs/adding-markdown-pages/ and additionally https://www.gatsbyjs.org/docs/adding-tags-and-categories-to-blog-posts/ (you can implement the "tags" for eg. portfolio type, media, etc)

I haven't started sketching but I've done some initial research for what i want it too look like - again as above wanting to explore and learn gatsby ( & react) to build out a portfolio & blog site together. I've previously used Hugo for blogs so have experience with static site generators so I am hoping that will help me out.

It's not looking like I'll be able to have mine done within the month — the vast majority of the work will be writing case studies, and that alone is a more than I can get done in the month. Hope it goes well for y'all, and I look forward to learning from what y'all get done. 👍

I guess we do it right here. So brainstorm away.

I bought myself a new domain (www.hejrafa.com) and adjusted the three social networks (Twitter, Instagram, Dribbble) that count for me with that username.

I just want to have a simple portfolio that shows who I am and what I have worked on. Plus links to those social networks.

The site should bring my design aesthetics across and maybe even be a little experimental.

My current site and old online name can be found here: www.diccce.com
