I've been working on this little feedback widget - all the other options I found were outdated/ugly so I made my own. It's been super useful so far. You can subtly prompt users for feedback using emojis + optional comment/email) Running it live on https://pepperfilters.com for 2 days now, I got over 100 responses and was able to discover a few bugs and heard some great feature requests + a better estimate on the NPS (net promoter score) of the site. 🚀 It logs user operating system/browser version and location as well.
I'm beta testing it right now on a few sites, if you're interested, let me know and I'm happy to help you set it up (completely free of course) :)
BTW: It's really easy, just add this line to your sites footer: <script id="prps-widget" userId="125" src="https://widget.prps.me/"></script> , replace your user id with a random number above 125, message me (I'll activate it) and it'll start recording feedback.
Here's the landing page: https://prps.me (would love some feedback on that, too!)
Thanks!

Nice! I left you more feedback through the widget.

Will add it to my project soon

Awesome, just replace your user id with 126 and it'll start recording

Dashboard isn't ready yet, but I can set it to send you the feedback in batched emails. Does that work?

Looks really nice. The landing page is clear and the value prop too. I'm using Hotjar now...but I guess for a lot of sites this would totally be enough. Good job!

@danielwyb I dig this concept. Left some more feedback through the widget!

Thanks, Tim. Hotjar bundles a lot of useful features - used it for a bit too. Didn't really like their style for the widgets.

@brandon-klotz Cool, I'll check!

It looks pretty neat! I'd experiment with the pricing a bit: Charging for # of responses seems like a big barrier to even trying out the free version.

A more common way of charging for something like that would be to remove the "⚡️ by prps.me" in the Pro version, which might lead to more sites just using the free version, giving you a nice viral coefficient. Either you make money or they advertise you, win win!

In the sense that I look at the site, think "Oh this looks kinda nice", then go "Oh but hold on I can only record 200 responses per month and it's super easy to respond? I'll probably get way more than that so I'd have to pay $8... Meh"

If it was free from the start on the other hand I'd just go "Oh that looks nice and it's free unless I want to remove the branding! I don't really care about advertising it since it's free so I'm just gonna throw that on my site and see what happens!"

Maybe that's just me, food for thought I guess.

Also, the "We're hiring" link in the footer doesn't lead to anything hah

@mxstbr Thanks for the feedback - this is really useful. Just pushed a new version with unlimited ratings in the free version.

Agreed on the limit. I was a bit hesitant to remove the branding in the pro version because then the most high traffic/well respected sites using it wouldn't serve as referral anymore. We get ~ 100k visitors/month and still have intercom branding on our chat... let me check, maybe you can remove it and they just don't do it by default.

Re missing links: It's meant to be a very soft alpha launch here to validate that people find it useful/want to install on their site - so the links are just dummy links for now :). Btw, I love that spectrum exists, feel much more comfortable here getting early feedback than on producthunt. I also held off building a dashboard for now - I want to first make sure the widget itself is 🔥 I'm still tweaking the look a bit, anything that makes you not want to use it?

@jesperbylund Awesome! Would you use it or is there something that's a dealbreaker?

Sweet project man! I'll keep it in mind when I one day get around to launching a blog haha

@danielwyb yeah that makes sense

The only visual bit is that it's not very clear which emoji is selected

Rather than removing the background card, maybe scale it up instead and add a border or something?
