Hi, I am struck with my work. When I call the deployed method in the below code
App.contracts.Election.deployed().then(function(instance){ electioninstance = instance; return electioninstance.name.call(0); }).then(function(name){ $("#election-name")[0].innerHTML = name; }).catch(function(err){ console.log(err.message); });
Receiving error message "self.web3.version.getNetwork is not a function". In trufflesuite I am unable to find function getNetwork.

Hello, Upgrading pragma creates other errors. How do I make this contract work with this solc and truffle? Thanks!

So if you change prama for example to 0.5.0 this requires a other version of solc. So the truffle-config.js you posted tells us: version: "0.4.24" which forces truffle to use this version of solc. So you need to insure the required version of solc is installed and then change the version string from 0.4.24 to 0.5.0. So this should fix your compiler errror.

Next the code you posted has nothing to do with solc/Solidity. This is a JavaScript code from truffle testscript or truffle migration script? My fist advice is to check if there is no pending promise. This causes complete confusing error messages. Next I would console.log some results and check if you have an object that is "undefined". - Second, web3.version.getNetwork is a web3js JavaScript Method. So it seems, that the self-Object that is used does not contain web3. So you may inject web3 to the self object. I expect you are using oldstyle self for referencing this? Hope this helps

Well you might give some more informations. Do you have a test project in Infra, - and Infura now has Version v3, and probaly your configuration is v2. So check this first. I recommend to change to v3 and then put the new configuration Data to truffle-config.js

I just realized that Truffle HDWallet Provider is hardcoded to work with HttpProvider only. Is that right ?

Hey, we are currently at ETHLondon and try to build an argument-based voting dapp (basically a copycat of this centralized platform https://www.kialo.com/humans-should-act-to-fight-climate-change-4540). Arguments are contracts and displayed in a tree chart. Then the user should be able to interact and vote on them. We use https://www.trufflesuite.com/boxes/drizzle-vue-box and added https://github.com/tower1229/Vue-Tree-Chart to it. Displaying static content works fine, but we don't know how to get drizzle smart contract information into it and make it interactive and dynamic.

Hello guys, how's it going?
First of all, excuse me if this post doesn't go here. I'm trying to find out if it's possible to encrypt data at the Ethereum and how the proof of work works in detail. Let me explain: I've read papers about frameworks for encrypting information, but I don't know if this is correct. In the blockchain, should all the information be (obligatorily) visible, or is there a way to encrypt the data (or a little part) of a transaction? This concept is a bit annoying for me because if the information could be encrypted, then the network nodes could not perform the proof of work and validate the transaction, right?
I'm having a hard time finding information about this, can anyone help me? Any reliable link about these concepts would help me a lot. Thank you!!!

Hi. When I deploy my build to staging it is stuck on Step 2: Your deployment is being finalized for 30 minutes and still not finished. Is there something I can look at to debug or is this normal?
