URL to directly go to "view in your space" screen

October 26, 2019 at 4:24pm
Is there a way to eliminate the viewer step and construct a URL that goes directly to the "view in your space" AR screen? Better yet would be to directly open the camera. Eliminating user clicks/steps will help. Users having to click the AR logo is not well understood by all users.

Would that result in directly opening the camera view to place the object in AR? If so, that would be awesome. A single click UI!!!

I think what is needed is an embed you can put on your website that links to GLTF or USDZ depending on your device but also cuts out the uneccesary step of the 3D Vectary Viewer, and if you could introduce hotspots into it as well for purchasing links, then that would be fantastic

How about adding something like in this picture (preview or prieviewer)? The rest would continue to work as is. I love the product and I'm thrilled with this feature being added. Thank you.

Ideally we would like a single link to be able to show the 3D model in AR & better yet would be a way to prevent the saving of USDZ file..view only.. as with IOS you can click the top right share icon and send the USDZ file to anyone.... (unsure if this is the same with Android)

8th Wall can do this.... with a simple QR link...however accuracy is poor

I don’t think you can share the USDZ file anymore, just the website it’s embedded on?

That's great - all we need now is an animation option

Hi guys, we like this idea. Apart from the full featured web viewer we'll let you choose just "AR button". By pasting a piece of Javascript we will render the "View in AR" button with all the display logic. Stay tuned.

Hi guys, so we've prepared the AR button. All you need to do is create your custom link (button, icon...) heading to https://www.vectary.com/viewer-ar/v1/?model=5f3fce1a-e699-4470-abd1-09ace11a77cb
Replacing the part after ?model= with your model ID.
Basically in desktop browser it will open a page with QR code and on AR supported devices (iOSm Android) it will go directly to AR.
Please, let us know what you think.

Hi thanks for the update - I'm wondering if it's possible to just have the QR code? Or can that be cut and pasted from the iFrame?

The reason I say this is because it looks a bit messy when embedded on a website
