Feedback: it should not be possible to have the same email in multiple accounts

February 26, 2020 at 6:24am (Edited 3 months ago)
I did this by accident, first I signed up using a normal email. Then I signed up again via Github without realizing it created a new account. So I ended up with 2 accounts with the same email.
This is a problem because when I logged in via now CLI, it uses email to verify. I put in my email for my Github account, but it actually logged me into my other account. So I spent a day debugging why my deployments wasn't showing up on the now dashboard when I was actually logged into the wrong account.
Not sure if it's bug or feature to not check for email uniqueness, but this flow should be fixed.
Thanks!

I fixed it by deleting my other account and logging out / relogging in via CLI.

Now sure if the following issues is related to the fact I have multiple accounts, but I also noticed that:
  • logout / login doesn't work until I downgraded to v16.
  • now dev wasn't loading vars from .env correctly - I'm not sure how this is technically linked to multiple accounts but after I linked the correct account it worked, even though I made no changes to the code.
