GDPR - German users

September 29, 2018 at 8:47pm

I am planning to deploy multiple german platforms onto Now and was therefore checking out the GDPR compatibility.

The only commitment I found was "We intend to be fully GDPR compliant.". Well, it's nice that you intend to be compliant but what does that exactly mean? Would you sign a GDPR compliant Data Processing Agreement?

cheers,

Eugene

And a region in EU-Frankfurt would be very great. I also planing to move some apps to now.sh but for some the server location needs to be in Germany. Are there any plans on adding more regions?

1+ for region in Frankfurt! In terms of GDPR I’d just like to point out that that it’s not required for the servers to be in Germany but as you stated above you need the data processing agreement. With that and your app running in BRU1 you can be also be fully compliant. I really like how hetzner.de solved this by providing a small section in your account to formalise the agreement.
