Redirection email domain

August 13, 2018 at 9:42pm
Hey!
Is it possible to set up an email to redirect to my personal email.
I have a website for a podcast and I really wanted to set up a "fake" emails that would just redirect to me and the Co hosts email

I personally use http://improv.mx for this. You just need to run two now DNS add ... commands 😃

Hey there , there's not currently a service provided by ZEIT to forward emails, however there are a few external services that you can configure to forward emails on your behalf (some free, some not):
Here's a script that I use to setup improvmx on one of my Now domains:
#!/bin/sh
now dns add "$1" '@' MX mx1.improvmx.com 10
now dns add "$1" '@' MX mx2.improvmx.com 20
Use it like: ./setup-improvmx.sh mydomain.com.
Hope that helps!

If you reply to the forwarded email, is it from your mydomain.com address or the from the ultimate destination address?

or Alternatively, can we set up our own email-server on Now?

I used the code above to setuo my domain with hostgator like:
`now dns add mydomain.com '@' MX mail.mydomain.com 10`
The address mail.mydomain.com was provided for hostgator as the mx entry.
Is it the right way to do this?

Yup? Are you using mail settings in subdomain.now.sh? (Ie you want the email address of [email protected]) It does not exist.

Hey guys thanks for the quick response. My confusion is coming from setting up individual email accounts and updating MX servers from CLI doesn't seem to work for me I'm getting an error "name" undefined or something along the lines of that.

https://emailforward.mx does provide same service. Complete list can be found here: https://woorkup.com/email-forwarding-service/

For those that landed here, here're the commands that I run and made everything working:
now dns add <my domain here> @ MX mx1.improvmx.com 10
now dns add <my domain here> @ MX mx2.improvmx.com 20
now dns add <my domain here> @ TXT 'v=spf1 include:spf.improvmx.com ~all'
Then I went to improvmx.com and filled my aliases.
